When smart people don't get it, really smart people step in. Really smart people normally only operate in the background.
Imagine this. I want you to fully understand how terrible people are at understanding reality, especially when it comes to something like the brain.
I want to understand what a brain does. What is the most logical place to start?
I want to understand consciousness. What is the most logical place to start?
Is it a brain scanner? Is it some deep, complex (and retarded) philosophy like Buddhism?
I'll give you a hint.
You have a brain. You have consciousness. So the first place you have to start is within yourself. "The kingdom is within you," somebody once said. It's true.
The problem for me is that I normally wouldn't write anything down in such an aggressive tone, but it's really how I feel about a lot of science. It's like watching the blind debating the blind (no offense to blind people). It's almost unimaginable how bad people are at this.
Again, I want to understand the brain. How do I start?
I was six years old when I started to squeeze electricity manually through my brain. I also just asked, "How do you work, brain?" which gave me phenomenal insights into life.
A simple mind would say this is an illusion, since I am the brain. It's exactly this kind of thinking that proves that people don't really understand it. For me, it's not acceptable to be stuck in a body I can't figure out from the inside out. Or are you going to tell me how a brain works? From my perspective, it's like you don't have one.
There are a lot of flaws in logic when people think about brains. If you remove a certain part of the brain—let's say the speech part—then a person probably can't speak (I don't know anything about neuroscience, but I presume something like that happens). The mistake in logic is assuming that part of the brain is responsible for speaking. That's the mistake. The thing speaking is responsible for the speaking, which was you all along.
I know this is already too hard for most people. Therefore, I have tried to make it easier via a checklist.
- Do you count your thoughts? Do you know why thoughts recur more during some hours than others, and what do you do then?
- Do you realize that not all thoughts are located in the same geographical location in your body?
- Have you accessed the collective consciousness?
