Always be careful with things that narrow your worldview.
- Like being too rigidly religious.
- Seeing everything as scientific.
- Social media.
- But also somebody else’s opinion. If somebody says, “Men don’t cry,” that narrows your worldview tremendously.
- Buddhism.
The problem is that you have already made it into something before it has shown itself to you.
Before the tears come up, you have already pushed them down.
Making gratitude lists is for people who aren’t doing well
If you have to tell yourself, “Just enjoy life and the sun on your face,” then you’re lying to yourself.
You only do that when the moment isn’t going well.
When things are going well, they already are. You’re already enjoying the sun on your face, so you don’t have to tell yourself to enjoy it.
If it’s nothing, it’s nothing.
