If you think an IQ test is an adequate way to measure intelligence, you are thinking in one dimension.

One-dimensional thinking is notoriously hard to explain, since by explaining it, I put it in a box — in one dimension — and the translation becomes one-dimensional too.

This often goes wrong in consciousness. Buddhism, for instance, is a one-dimensional way to explain consciousness, and therefore flat-out dangerous. That it’s about peace, butterflies and compassion is irrelevant.

Intelligence is multidimensional. This means that a lot of intelligence is actually hard work, creativity, self-control, and discipline. An IQ test measures only a very small dimension of intelligence. You could argue, for instance, that numbers are imaginary, and placing them in the right order in number sequences is therefore an imaginary way to measure intelligence.

We live in a society that heavily favors people who think inside the box. Linear thinking — doing things from A to B — gets overrated.

In the Bible, multidimensional thinking is actually explained very well. “Heavens” (up) and “earth” (down) is about the forming of the first 3D object. Before that, our universe started in one dimension — and in one dimension, you don’t have a second dimension to describe it. So a higher power is actually a very adequate way to describe this, since by describing it, you already enter the second dimension.

You can also explain the beginning of our universe through the Big Bang, but that is a one-dimensional way of looking at it.

The mistake you make is that you think you were created by a guy in the sky, which was not the point. You’re missing the point. The Bible explains multiple ways of looking at the world. The world can also be perceived as liquid, for instance (walking on water), or as waves (splitting the ocean). This is about the first dimensions that started when our universe began.

“Creating a middle in the water” is about splitting the ocean, which is a necessary step to start a universe.

Try it yourself: how do you move over horizontal dimensions? You can read this text while recognizing the letters but without understanding the meaning. You can also read it while not understanding it at all. It’s multidimensional. This is how you switch between brain regions within yourself.

Another way of explaining it: if all you eat is bread, does bread become you?

Reality is not an illusion. It’s multidimensional. The Matrix is real, though. Have you seen people with smartphones?

Last point: mental and physical are not different. A thought can imprison you more than any physical prison ever could. And you carry it everywhere, so it’s actually worse.

Looking at something one-dimensional:

  • Looking at food only through the lens of calories.

Looking at something multidimensional:

  • Let’s, for the sake of argument, say that ‘brain’ and ‘mind’ are about the same thing, but viewed from different dimensions. A different lens.

Be careful with operating one-dimensionally.

Another example of looking one-dimensionally: looking at specific body parts as being ‘big’ or ‘small’, or looking at your body as fat or thin.

I know I use a lot of weight metaphors, but they explain it well. Another good example is looking only through the lens of functionality: this body part does this, that body part does that, and when you add them all together, you get this experience. It’s not untrue, but it’s too narrow. Real life is more than that.

I find multidimensional thinking so hard that I often forget how to do it myself. It’s the opposite of riding a bike.

Problems you run into when you only move from one dimension:

  • If all I know is science, I miss all the magic.

  • If all I know is religion, I miss all logic.

  • If all I know is Buddhism, I am lost forever.

When I doubt, I always combine different dimensions.
From a religious perspective, it’s unimaginable that somebody doesn’t see religion in day-to-day life.
From a scientific perspective, it’s unimaginable that somebody is religious (how can you be so wrong?).
From a Buddhist perspective, you think you know everything, but you don’t know anything — this is the real ego trap.

Energy is the thing in between.

You are made of one kind of energy.
The other person is made of one kind of energy.

And in between the two of you, there is energy as well — love, for instance. Energy between two objects.

So if you want to describe this respectfully: there is only one form of energy, the one in between, since I don’t want to judge or define the energy of others.

A lot of people mix this up with ideas like “there is no me” or “I am part of a big quantum field”.

**Consciousness is your body explaining to you how it works.
Since your body is asymmetrical and reality is multidimensional, this is hard to spot.

Love,
me**

Consciousness is the thing that moves around inside your body. Your attention shifts from one point to another, circulating through you.

It’s a lot of fun to explore. You can even rearrange those points—starting with your saliva, for example.

I’ve had so many unbelievable experiences with consciousness that I’ve lost count. The best experiences are when you’ve been sober for a long time; those are the purest.

It feels as if you receive all signals step by step, moving around inside you. Don’t block anything.

And you can even see it differently too—it's incredible.
