About ADD/ADHD – Why is it a problem to be distracted all the time?
I’m distracted 24/7. When I start doing the laundry, five minutes later I’m already doing something else. But why is that a problem? I see it as a quick way to learn. With every new start, you get new information—so in a way, it’s not such a bad thing to start as many tasks as possible. Calling that “distraction” seems like a strange way of describing it.
The same goes for “forgetting” things. What does forgetting really mean? When I look around a room, I rank what I notice in order of importance:

High-priority things, like danger

Functional things—like keys—come last
So it actually makes perfect sense to forget your keys all the time. There are more important things around you than keys.
Humans exist in every dimension possible.
For example, you can separate humans by countries and nationalities.
But in every population, you’ll find both “classy” and “less classy” people—it doesn’t matter where in the world you look. Our perception is often shaped by what we see in the news: we end up thinking, for instance, that everyone in Africa is helpless.
If you really want to separate people, it makes more sense to use something like “amount of class” as a variable rather than the place where someone was born.
Worrying is parking an emotion. Dealing with emotions is complex, so you “park” them in your mind. That’s what we call worrying. And that, in turn, is thinking.
Some things are technically correct, yet still wrong.
Take counting calories, for example. Counting calories works—but you should never actually rely on it.
Objectively, it works: there’s nothing to argue against.
But it doesn’t work in real life, because in the long run it’s unhealthy. You lose touch with your body, with knowing what kind of food you need and when. You no longer feel the natural rhythms of hunger and fullness. If you eat the same amount of calories every day, you’ll always be eating too much or too little.
