Does an Objective Reality Exist?
The concept of reality is already very confusing.
-
Dogs smell things we don’t smell.
-
Orcas hear things we don’t hear.
So we don’t perceive the full reality. Animals don’t perceive the full reality either. No matter what you are, there are always parts that remain hidden.
We like to think we’re aware of everything around us—but we’re not.
I see reality more as the point where our perceptions overlap than as some kind of “objective” world.
Even if you only look at humans, you could say we all live in completely different worlds. It’s almost hard to imagine that you spend an entire day not thinking about anything I’m thinking about. That’s how far apart our worlds are.
We’re already living in parallel universes.
Maybe you’ve felt this: you enter a new phase in your sexuality. A new world opens up. That world was always there, but you had never seen it before.
The incredible thing about this universe is the balance.
Life is perfectly balanced to give you this experience right now.
If you were to go without oxygen for just a few minutes, you would die. That’s how perfectly balanced it is. That’s how extraordinary it is.
