Tutorial: How to Get Psychiatric Diseases
Yes, I really did this.
Fwiw: English is not my first language.
I grew up as a happy child. At 33, I got picked up by a van which drove me to a psychiatric hospital. That was 3 years ago. Now, I have a top 10% job and an expensive apartment.
I decided to spin the ball once more to see how you get into states of psychosis.
My scorecard so far: ADHD, autism, psychosis.
I was locked in with a person getting those electric shocks you see in movies. Every day, he told the same story. Almost exactly in the same words.
What Happens When You Lose Your Mind
This is the bizarre part: when you lose your mind, you actually stop doubting yourself.
That’s the bizarre part — you’re convinced that you are right.
The opposite is also true: the more you doubt yourself, the better it goes.
Now, I have a lot of doubts.
About writing this down.
Three years ago, I was convinced I knew everything.
What 100% Helps:
-
Working out
-
Nutrition
-
Sleeping right
-
Socializing
- Music
These basic things took away 99% of my problems. When the basics are on point, it’s almost impossible to have a lot of long-term issues.
Substance abuse is also relevant, but it was more of a trigger for me.
It felt like I was living on another planet, completely disconnected from life here.
An aspect religion can carry too, by the way.
So, like I said: I decided to give it one more spin.
I started messing with the basics again. I felt the scale tilting again, but it wasn’t sufficient to get into a full-blown psychosis that gets you locked in.
People in Psychiatry Are Less Crazy Than You Think
People outside of psychiatry are way crazier than they think themselves.
