Religions come and go. It’s hard for us to imagine now that certain religions once didn’t exist. Back then, there were other religions.
That doesn’t mean religion is ‘stupid.’ On the contrary, it’s a reflection of the people who lived before us: what their norms and values were, what they found important. Like a stamp on a postcard.
A thousand years from now, there will be entirely new religions. That’s how it’s meant to be. The reason religion continues to exist is because it truly matters to people. These are things we know are important, even if we don’t yet have the words to describe them. And that is something beautiful.
